Extra Work for Teachers in Taiwan

As an ESL teacher in Taiwan you may be expected to do a little extra work on top of your contractual obligations. While this may eat a bit into your free time, the image it gives to your employer and coworker will go a long way in developing a long term relationship with them.

Extra work may involve assisting some local teachers or even building the school through marketing events. You may wish to offer some help to other teachers in order to give a better impression. Even though you will probably be turned down in your offer for help, the thought counts just as much in the east as it does the west.

ESL teachers have some of the best working schedules for teachers in the Far East. Giving a little bit of your time will show your commitment to the school as well as to your fellow staff.
