Life in Korea

When setting up a bank account in Korea be sure to ask other foreign teachers what banks are most conveniently located. Oftentimes a bank will charge you if your bankcard is not from their bank.  You should be sure to ask about wiring fees, whether they have a branch in the USA they can make certified checks from, and the availability of the ATMs. Wiring fees are usually more expensive on the incoming wire in the USA then the outgoing wire from Korea so be sure to check with your local bank at home as well.
