Chinese National Symbols

National symbols abound in traditional China. Dragons, Mountains, Burial Sites all hold symbolical importance to Chinese people and are considered an integral part of Chinese history and pride. Some of the symbols are more modern like Tianemman Square, others are more ancient like the Yangtze River.

Chinese people are considered by the west to be very superstitious and ESL teachers who intend to reside in China should both be aware of what some of the more important superstitions are and respect them.
